Signed and Sorted exists because too many critical moments in business and life get handled carelessly — closings delayed by a no-show notary, credit reports left riddled with errors, businesses adopting AI with no idea of the risks. We built a company around getting these things right, first time, every time.

We’re headquartered in Southfield, Michigan, with national and international reach.

Meet the Founder

Joshua Gardner is a UK-qualified solicitor who moved to the United States to build something of his own. Trained in English law and still practising as a consultant solicitor for a UK firm, Josh brings a lawyer’s precision to industries that badly need it.

Over the past several years, Josh has owned and run multiple law firms, buying, building, and selling them — experience that taught him not just the law, but what it takes to grow a professional services business and exit it well. He continues to act for legal clients in business, property and private client matters.

He doesn’t theorise about running companies — he runs them. That operator’s perspective shapes everything we do: practical advice, reliable execution, and no tolerance for sloppy work.

Notary Signing Services

We coordinate notary signings nationwide for title companies and signing services closing property transactions. When a closing depends on documents being signed correctly, on time, by a professional who understands what they’re handling, we find and place the right notary — anywhere in the country.

Title companies use us because we take the risk out of the last mile of a closing. Every signing agent we place is vetted, briefed, and accountable. No missed appointments, no botched acknowledgements, no resigns.

General Notary & Fingerprinting

For individuals and businesses, we handle general notary work — affidavits, powers of attorney, deeds, sworn statements, and any document that needs a commissioned notary. We also provide professional fingerprinting services for licensing, employment, and background check requirements.

Apostille Services

When a document needs to be used abroad, notarisation alone isn’t enough — it must be authenticated for the destination country. Our apostille service manages the entire process: birth, marriage and death certificates, corporate documents, powers of attorney, educational records, and court documents, certified for use in any Hague Convention country. For non-Hague countries, we handle the full embassy legalisation route.

This is where our international reach matters. Most providers stop at the notary stamp; we see the document through to acceptance overseas — notarisation, county and state certification, and apostille or legalisation, start to finish. As a firm founded by a UK solicitor working across two jurisdictions, cross-border paperwork isn’t a sideline for us. It’s what we know.
