Notarial Acts We Perform

• Acknowledgments: the signer confirms their identity and that they signed willingly. Common on deeds, powers of attorney and many contracts.
• Jurats: the signer swears or affirms that the contents of a document are true and signs in front of the notary. Used for affidavits and sworn statements.
• Oaths and affirmations: administered in person or as part of a document. See our oaths page.
• Signature witnessing: for documents that require a notary to witness the signing itself.
• Copy certification: where state law permits, and copy certification by document custodian.

Where We Meet You

Being mobile is the point. We regularly meet signers at:

• Homes: for families, older signers and anyone who can’t easily travel.
• Offices: for businesses with several signers, or professionals who can’t leave work.
• Hospitals and care facilities: for urgent powers of attorney, healthcare directives and estate documents. Please check that the signer is alert and able to communicate, and that the facility allows visitors at the planned time.
• Jails and detention centers: we visit jails and detention centers to notarize for people in custody. We schedule the visit around the facility’s visiting rules and ID requirements, so call us first and we’ll plan it with you.
• Coffee shops, libraries and other public places: wherever is convenient and appropriate.

How a Mobile Notary Appointment Works

1. Get in touch. Call (248) 975-7129 or book online. Tell us the document type, how many signers there are, the number of signatures needing notarization, and where and when you’d like to meet.
2. Confirm the details. We confirm the time and location and let you know what each signer should bring.
3. We arrive. We check each signer’s identification, confirm they understand what they’re signing and are signing willingly, and watch the signing where the notarial act requires it.
4. Notarize and review. We complete the notarial certificate, apply our seal, record the act in our journal, and review the document with you before we leave.

What to Have Ready

• Identification: each signer usually needs a current, valid government-issued photo ID. If a signer doesn’t have one, tell us when you book so we can discuss what options may be available.
• The complete document: all pages, unsigned. Don’t sign ahead of time unless we’ve confirmed that’s acceptable for that document.
• Everyone who needs to sign: all signers must be present, and any required witnesses too.
• Instructions: if a court, agency, employer or foreign authority gave you instructions, have them on hand.
